The State of Sikkim joined RUSA on 10.07.2014 by committing to reforms in higher education in the State. The total funds approved by the Project Approval Board in RUSA 1.0 for the state is 55.84 Crores comprising of 50.256 Crores Central Share and 5.584 Crores as State Share.
The State joined RUSA 2.0 on 22.05.2018. The total funds approved by the Project Approval Board in RUSA 2.0 for Sikkim is 52 Crores comprising of 46.80 Crores Central Share and 5.2 Crores as State Share.
