The State of Gujarat joined RUSA on 6.11.13 by committing to reform its higher education sector. The Project Approval Board (PAB) in its 3rd and 8th meetings held on 13.05.14 and 02.09.2015 approved proposals of the State worth Rs. 308 crores, comprising of Rs. 184.8 crore as Central share (60%) and Rs. 123.2 crore (40%) as State’s share.
The State joined RUSA 2.0 in the 12th & 15th PAB held on 25th May, 2018 & 24th Jan, 2019. The funds approved by PAB in RUSA 2.0 is 102 Crores comprising of 61.2 Crores Central Share and 40.8 Crores as State Share.
The Component-Wise funds approved and central share released till 7th July, 2019 under RUSA 1.0 & RUSA 2.0 are given below:
